Dreamy girl !!

For the past two days , I have been having strange dreams and unlike every other day where I used to forget the dream that happened as soon as wake up , I remembered these dreams as I was able to correlate them with one thing or the other in my real life . So before time erases my thoughts about these dreams from memory , I would like to share with you guys those adventurous dreams I had :P .

Now that's sleeping beauty (Aurora and Philip) :P And I dont know whether she dreamt of something other than the prince

Well let us not get in to that now ,coming to my dreams ......

Dream 1 : AVATAR

I am in IISC Bangalore and my friend Sathya is with me too . We were having silly talks (as usual) . Then suddenly a ferocious Tiger somehow escaped from Zoo ,came searching for prey in IISC . Myself and Sathya were busy discussing about how to make Tomato Rice (thakkali Sadham--> we 've had bitter experience in making this .. Probably that incidence stored somewhere in the corner of my mind showed up ). We didn't notice the tiger coming behind us .It pounced on me :( . I ran as fast as my legs could carry me , suddenly Sathya went missing from the whole dream , I was all alone in this strange dream . The tiger was chasing me like anything , but I outran the tiger , He was not able to catch me , I felt like a heroine .Everyone in the place seemed to vanish , and I realised that I was the stole living human being in this country (I AM LEGEND :P). And a startling (??) revelation hit my head , that I was the chosen one to save this earth and its inhabitants from this Man eater (!!!) . With Great power comes Great responsibility . So with this great responsibilty I entered a state a deep sleep without dreams :P

Dream 2 : CAST AWAY

I am in a strange island surrounded by deep blue ocean and fierce waves hitting the shore making loud gushing sound. The water was crystal clear ,I was able to see all sorts of strange species inside . It was mind blowing. Then a man came and greeted me . He said " We are honored to have a great research person like you in our island . I will show you the place where you and your mom would be staying , follow me " . Me and my Mom followed him , he took us to a place near the shore , It looked like a small room , we entered inside and this guy pressed some buttons and the room started moving , Finally when the room stooped moving , the man opened the door to let us out . I was stunned to see the beautiful house in the middle of the ocean supported by a single pillar which came from deep inside the ocean . This was unbelievable . The house was made of glass , the man who came with us took us inside and he showed us some controls , which when turned on will cover the house with a water proof shield and there stood a mega submarine like House which actually can take us to places deep inside the ocean.. This was perfect !!! I was very excited , then the man left us all for ourselves . The first thing I did was tranforming the house into a submarine and lowered the house deep inside the blue waters . Suddenly the water disappeared from the ocean and I saw our submarine house covered with mud . My mom started sweeping the floor (!!!) . I did not know what was happening . ( My mom indeed was sweeping the floor and was scolding me for not getting up . I realised that I am in some awesome dream , I did not want that to end thi s way !! so i continued sleeping). Confused , I maneuvered the house above the ocean which actually has vanished , (??!!). Then I was standing in a valley full of flowers and huge trees , The ocean was missing :( .. My mom was worried , She told we should get out of this place (second reminder from my mom -- Still I wanted the dream to continue ) . So I went in search of finding a way out . I saw a huge tree , On it was a nest so huge , I have never seen something like that before , iIwent close to the tree , "Whoosh , Whoosh " I heard some noise coming closer , It was a giant Blue bird , with colorful feathers (source : UP (pixar )) . It started chasing me , I started running away from it , trying to reach some bushes away from its sight , I tripped over a stone Ouuuch !!! :( No way out , I said to myself " Death here I come " .Waiting for the bird to take me , Suddenly ,I saw someone approaching the brid from behind . It was my mom who came for my rescue , She started hitting the bird with broom (thodaapam or vilakumaaru !!) I woke up and saw my mom standing next to me with broom in her hand :P Icursed my mom partly ... But then I was thankful to her for saving me from the giant BLUE BIRD :P

WAY TO NEGOTIATE !!

In my company , there is this training given to freshers and almost freshers(one yr experienced people) to improve their foundational competency skills. For each class the company has to pay $75 to the contractors who handle theses classes for the company. OMG!! what a waste of money is my first thought towards these kind of trainings. But I was made to attend one such training, that main aim of which is , I can put something in my PBC or goal sheet or whatever they call those worst evaluation sheets which they use to weigh us (The poor techies !!) for a possible or probable hike :D

So I was given a wide variety of options to choose from , I worked on the options and finally picked up " negotiation skills training" , for these reasons

1. It was on a (THANK GOD) friday !!

2.I liked the name of the instructor which is Maya !

3.It was held in some place away from my normal working place

4.And it is a one day training unlike others which lasted for 2 days

So , the training day came ,I was reluctant to go , I was very sure that I'm going to sleep .And , I hate these classes where instructor asks us to do some stupid activities and make us go to end of our wits. However I feel , I have to attend this class , else my manager will kill me .

I entered the class, some of my colleagues were already there and in total twelve people were there. Instructor Maya was there already she greeted me ,such a warm smile . She started of with introduction and such stuff. Then of course comes the first lesson which is "definition of Negotiation" . I started scribbling something in the handouts she gave me , but surprisingly I found the class quite interesting , May be it was because It was all about how to make successful negotiations and we all were keeping our managers in mind and imagined ourselves winning the deal..oh ! It was such a wonderful feeling !! :D So that thought brought the whole class together !! Everyone were active and there was whole lot of zeal !!

I wished to share some of the very good points that came up in the training , so here I am

Negotiation is a process of

1. Getting things done

2.Action oriented doing process

3.Influencing behaviour

4.A changing relationship

The main aim of this whole class of course , is to learn a better way to get things done , and achieving a WIN-WIN situation, without affecting the existing relationship (My manager in mind again !! :D).Many people , No matter how familiar they are with the subject , there are still pitfalls and perils when negotiating with an individual or a group of people , like

1. difficult questions which we struggle to answer

2. forgetting what to say

3.Losing the attention of counterparts

4.Not capturing interest in first place :( (worst thing to happen )

when there is a problem there is also a solution , so lets move on to the solution and Negotiation TACTICS . The solution is simple " THE THREE Ps "

1.Prepare

2.Practise

3.Participate

Do as much as you can before the event and don't be a bystander , should get involved , say your piece, argue your point and make a difference . Often seeing the problem from a different angle helps a lot .

There were many movie buff s in the class , they brought up some best quotes from movies.. The class was going great , Then someone in the class started talking about THE GOD FATHER's ways, oops!! there are no "ways" only one " way"

"Make him and offer which he can't refuse " (plz dont try this !!)

Then came the best part , negotiation tactics , Im putting few points which i liked the most

* Give the impression you have more information than you actually do

*Skilled negotiators think carefully before reacting , sometimes doing nothing is the most appropriate response

*state your offer on a clear 'take it or leave it' basis

*send two demands , pressurise other party to accept one

*Purposefully misunderstand : deliberately misinterpret the other party and behave as if misinterpretation was fact

*re-open previoulsy settled issues (this gives you some time in the whole process)

*Use humor : lighten up the situation . Usually best to makes jokes against yourself

*Remember to smile

We were made to give counter tactics for the above tactics, That was the last session of the training . Finally we were given certificates (the main reason to attend this training ). It was not so bad after all , turned out to be a fruitful day :D .And I walked back to office for continuing my work ,even though I was very tired after attending this whole day training , as I cant negotiate with my team lead :D . But I made up my mind to use the lessons learnt someday :)

MY EXPERIMENTS WITH BLOGGING !

Chapter 1 : The Day I got internet connection

As soon I got internet connection for the first time in my life... i was like "very happy" ..From now on I can download songs on my own... I can download movies..read about fairy tales..barbies..cartoons .. I can read about a whole lot things.... I can chat with my frnds..... I can join orkut (!!!!!). It was like,the ultimate thing that could happen to me... Then I came to realise that in addiction to these ...oops in addition to these things. :D ..people were addicted to sumthing else.. what they called blogging !!oh wat the hell is this blogggin thing , I wondered ??!!! I went through some of my frnds so called blogs... i came to know that these blogs are nothing but our good old diaries !!! Few people wrote about their experiences ,interesting incidents, a few about books ..a few about movies , a few ppl rubbish !! and so on.. Naturally the popularity of blogs made me add this blogging thing in my things -to -do-after -getting -internet -connection list :P

Chapter 2: How internet changed my life !!

I started using messenger,gtalk,skype,twitter,facebook ofcourse orkut ahem..ahem...!! almost all social networking sites... my daily routine became like this....wake up,breakfast,office, internet..work... lunch... internet.. work... tea ..back home.. internet.. internet... supper.. internet. .internet.. then internet...then internet....some times it made me hate myself.I felt like I lost something precious in my life...But I couldnt figure out what...?? nah!! but all this conscience things doesnt seem to change the course of direction and yeah, my wish list shrunk,the only thing that was left out in my wish list was this blogging... !! . so here I am ,after one thousand dilemmas.... writing my own blog.... yay!! i can call myself a blogger from now on... On the other hand blogging is not as easy as it sounds.. You need to have some creative ideas or atleast some thought running in your mind...which you need to convert into words and use your writing ability to put in here as a blog ..This 'constant flow of ideas' is not something which every one would posess...only few ppl have the ability to mesmerize (or atleast without putting mokkai) others by the way they talk..and their ideas :) :) I realised bloggin is really difficult.... hope my experiments with blogging doesnt end here !!
